NEW ACTIVITIES
Studying for an English test by typing to the smart board is fun and exciting! Singular and Plural Possessive Nouns can be confusing, so much practice with this skill is needed!
Practicing for a reading test by matching answers to the questions on the magnetic board is engaging and different.
The fun never ends in Reach Out!

Learning Strategies in Reach Out is the place to be at the end of every day! Homework assignments are discussed and confirmed, tests are reviewed, and work is completed. The classroom iPads are very useful when completing vocabulary definitions. The computers assist with learning Spanish using Rosetta Stone. Students work hard...well most of the time!

Amelia Earhart was the person of interest for this project. The student created a time line of Amelia's life and achievements using information from the Internet. She also read various chapters from Who Was Amelia Earhart?
which was a book we downloaded to the iPad. It was so much fun reading about Amelia's life and passion for flying!

Thursday's journal assignment gave the students an opportunity to have fun writing using their imaginations. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this journal entry included a simile and a metaphor, which was the emphasis of an English lesson a few weeks ago. I am very proud of this student!

After reading a story about sea turtles in Reach Out last week, I thought it would be fun for my third grader to write a "book" about these amazing creatures. Today we enjoyed watching  videos on You Tube showing sea turtles struggle out of their eggs and run toward the ocean. Later, ideas were  written on a graphic organizer. We will go through the writing process this week and end with illustrating
our wonderful book  on  sea turtles.
